
A well-known food company in Japan has withdrawn a stock of about 100,000 packets of bread with a well-known brand owned by the company from stores last Wednesday due to the discovery of body parts of a rat.
The “Pasco Shikishima” company located in the western city of Tokyo has removed the cut bread packets released to the market under the Pasco brand, which included parts of a rat’s body, from those stores.
The concerned company has issued a special announcement to the media saying that since it was revealed that 2 bread packets produced by the company contained parts of a rat, all the bread packets belonging to that batch were removed from the stores and brought back to the company.
It has not been revealed how the parts of a rat were included in the bread packets and an investigation is being conducted in that regard
The Japanese food company has said. The Pasco Shikishima company has also stated that no one has been reported to have fallen ill after eating those bread products.
Japan, which has the second largest economy in the world, is known as a country that pays great attention to food safety, but in recent times, there have been several cases of low-quality food and food supplements being removed from the market, CNN news service reported.
